Can you believe the 5th season of The Voice has finally stepped into its final phase? Yesterday the three finalists – Will Champlin, Tessanne Chin and Jacquie Lee – performed and tonight the winner will be announced. It was a busy episode for Christina, too, who performed live twice and gave us three outfit changes.
After sticking to black and white outfits for many weeks, she opted for a baby blue look which really suited her. She wore a custom-made party dress by her stylist Simone Harouche – beaded bodice and multi-layer organza skirt with big bow on the back. The look was inspired to Cinderella and was a homage to Christina’s Disney roots. It’s not my favourite outfit of the season, but she looked lovely.
The episode was opened by a live performance: the coaches and three members of the legendary British group Def Leppard. They performed their hit Pour Some Sugar On Me, from the 1987 album Hysteria. I love this song, especially the rendition given by Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages. In this case, Christina wore a black custom-made bodysuit, Christian Louboutin Palais Royal peep-toe pumps and a gorgeous silk embellished mini-skirt by Isabel Marant.
Christina always looks sensational in red, but this time the dress was ill-fitted, in my opinion, especially in the bodice, because the bra looked too padded/too pleated. In general, the shape of the dress made her look matronly. Definitely NOT my favourite look again.
I know it sounds weird, but my favourite look of the night was the one seen in pre-recorded scenes, where Christina and Jacquie rehearsed We Remain. She wore a simple ruby red cardigan, a white tee and skinny jeans. This is such a casual and nice outfit: she looked so fresh and young. I also liked her curly half-updo and her shiny red lips.
I smiled when I saw her t-shirt: it had a custom-made print in support of her team. I can’t even tell you how much I love her black suspenders worn over the t-shirt: they gave the whole look an old-fashioned but aggressive touch. The jewellery department included two diamond-studded rings, including the teardrop one she wore at the live show.
I can’t wait to see what Christina has in store for us for the finale. I’ve just learnt via Twitter that she will perform with Lady GaGa, but don’t ask me to comment on this. In any case, I’m looking forward to that unique performance, too.
