Three days in a row in which I write something about Christina Aguilera’s style! Exciting, right? This is actually a very special occasion because today the music video for Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti is being released. First of all, let me tell you this is an amazing song, a heart-felt rendition that Christina and the Mexican singer Alejandro Fernandez gave of a 1975 ballad by the Spanish artist Miguel Gallardo. I’m not an expert of music sung in Spanish, but this one is so romantic and Christina sounds incredible in it. The first time I listened to it my jaw dropped to the ground because her voice is just as it used to be years ago and then she’s so good at singing in Spanish.
The music video was shot in May 2013: images from the set were published online soon after the shooting, but I was waiting for the official release of the video before posting them. Anyway, I haven’t seen the video yet, but this is what she wore.
This is the first time Christina wore an Azzedine Alaia dress, even if she is a fan of the designer’s corset belts . I’m so glad she wore this black number because she looked gorgeous in it and because it’s actually beautiful. I wasn’t able to find a pic of the exact dress she wore but I found two Alaia dresses which inspired it. The one on the left has the same open work decorations seen on Christina’s dress, while the one on the right has the same style – ruffles on the lower part of the skirt, no sleeves and squared neckline.
Her hairstyle was incredibly flattering, too. I love her with loose wavy locks. As for her make-up, she opted for her trademark combination of smokey eyes and red lips. She’s been experimenting with make-up a lot lately, so sometimes it’s good to see her back to such a glamourous look. She didn’t wear any jewellery, which is an excellent decision: the dress is simple but it deserves to be the centre of the outfit, so there’s no need for sparkly embellishments.
The video hasn’t been published yet, so I guess I’ll post it here when it will.
Now Christina has changed her image, but I admit I’m already missing her as she appeared in this video.
