Don’t worry: I have no intention to turn this blog into a what-Christina-Aguilera-wears sort of catalogue, but the temptation to write about her is too strong to resist! She’s been out of the public eye for a long time, so now every time she steps out of her house and attends a public event, I cannot help but writing about her outfit. On November 8th, 2011, she went to the Belasco Theater for the launch party of The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, a videogame.
After the sexy secretary look (the one I prefer), Christina gave us a taste of rock chick style with an outfit which included black leggings, white tank, a black biker jacket and over-the-knee boots. Now, let me tell you something: there’s something deeply wrong in this outfit – the jacket, made of ponyskin with fur and leather details. You live in Los Angeles, honey, not in the North Pole, so what’s the use of wearing such a heavy-looking garment? A plain leather biker jacket or a blazer would have been better choices.
The tank she wore is by Alexander McQueen and has a skull print, embellished with beads and lace applications. She wore the same tank one year ago, when she performed at Dancing with the Stars.
Here is the body of evidence, a Versace creation. The coat on the right is not what she actually wore, but it has many details in common with her jacket – the shape of the collar, for example. She completed the outfit with black leggings and Christian Louboutin Supra Fifre leather boots.
As for the jewellery department, she wore a dramatic Tribal Spike sterling silver three-finger ring by Pamela Love, paired to Sally Hansen nail polish strips in Misbehave, a lovely champagne shade with black fishnet design.
She also wore Lanvin Crystal Building pendant earrings. This choice left me a bit perplexed, because the rock’n’roll edge of Pamela Love’s ring clashes (and not in a good way) with the Art Deco mood of these earrings.
She attended the event with her beau Matthew Rutler and she looked absolutely radiant, despite her not-so-perfect outfit. This is one of the rare cases in which they walked the red carpet together. I still miss Jordan by her side, because I’m convinced they were a lovely couple, but she looks so happy with Matt!
What do you think of this outfit?
