Christina Aguilera’s Style: At the Pumpkin Patch and at Halloween, October 14th and 31st, 2011

October has finally come with its chilly temperatures and the eerie atmosphere of Halloween. As usual, I cannot wait to carve my pumpkin with B, to wear our skeleton masks and scare the kids that go around trick or treating. Christina Aguilera is gearing up for this festivity, too: yesterday she paid a visit to Mr Bones pumpkin patch, a tradition she loves celebrating with her son Max. This year, her boyfriend Matt joined them.

This may sound a bit out-of-place, but don’t you miss her old family? I guess she’s happy with Matt and she split up from Jordan for good, but they were a terrific couple! Seeing them with their baby was just heart-melting.

Max was born a couple of months before my daughter and he’s sure growing up fast! He was wearing a cute Big Bad Wolf long-sleeved tee, jeans and a hat, thus matching his mother’s outfit, which included a tank top, a plaid shirt, black leggings and boots, plus a black pork pie hat. You can realize the annual visit to the pumpkin patch is a tradition for Christina because she’s almost always worn a plaid shirt, a garment it’s clear she’s got a soft spot for.

This plaid shirt has two patterns – one with the red background outside, and a different one – always with a red background – inside. The “California Dreaming” tank top she wore is a creation by Zoe Karssen, which she had worn it backstage at The Voice and when she went to see Adele in concert in Los Angeles. She completed this casual outfit with buckled boots and her trusty Prada round sunglasses (this style’s code is SPR21LS).

Her bag doesn’t convince me much. She carried a Prada nylon tote embellished by a skull decoration. This bag style can be customized, so I guess Christina got a studded star added next to the skull. She loves all things spooky and Halloween-themed, but this bag looks a bit trashy to me.

Awww, I really like this picture: she was holding her son while casting a “proud mommy” look on him.

Another reason why I always appreciate Christina’s visits to the pumpkin patch is that she always goes there make-up-less, thus looking more beautiful and younger than what she usually looks like. I’ve often said I admire her off-duty style, because it’s extremely relaxed, comfy and casual: Christina is not one of those celebrities who wear 12-inch shoes and elegant dresses even when they’re going out shopping, and in this I (and most women) can totally relate to her.

What do you think of Christina’s outfit? Do you share her passion for plaid shirts? Check this post back soon, because I will update it with pictures of her Halloween costume. Any bets on what she will choose this year?

Here I am with the Halloween update! In the afternoon of October 31st, Christina and Jordan were spotted with their son Max and his nanny in Hollywood, where they attended a party. Christina was wearing a comfortable outfit, which included black leggings, a white sweater, Chanel quilted buckle boots, sunglasses and a pork pie hat.

She wore a Wildfox Couture creation, a Love Bones baggy beach jumper. Christina loves skulls and the print on this sweater is a cute and ironic take on this decorative element. Even if the event was informal, she wore her trademark red lipstick and let her hair loose.

Later that night, Christina and her boyfriend Matthew Rutler attended a Halloween party at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, hosted by the Maroon 5. For the occasion, she wore a piratess costume, which included lace-trimmed low-cut top and yellow brocade corset, embroidered short vest and matching shorts. She completed the outfit with an array of rings, a big hat and a headscarf, plus Christian Louboutin Supra Fifre boots. I don’t think this is her best Halloween outfit – in the past, she sported better and more interesting costumes – but she was sexy and cute the same.
