Christina Aguilera’s Style: The Voice (Season 2) – Live Performances, Week 2

Now that Christina Aguilera’s style has finally taken a new, much-welcomed road, I’m more and more curious to see her outfits at The Voice. Yesterday’s episode focused on the live performances of the members of Team Adam and Team Cee-Lo (no need to tell you which team is my favourite, right? Cee-Lo all the way!). Christina had no members of her team perform live, so she just enjoyed the show and gave her opinions on the performances.

I think she looked really beautiful! Ok, not stunning as in the two previous episodes, but lovely nonetheless. After the black-dress phase she had last year, it seems she’s going throught a nice-bodycon-dress phase. I love that the dresses she’s been recently wearing are hardly revealing (just think of the Alexander McQueen long-sleeved dress she wore last week), but they prove you can be sexy without showing off much bare skin.

…and when I thought things couldn’t get any better, Christina Aguilera wowed everyone with a sensational look. I was so excited when I learnt about another episode of The Voice, introducing the 1st round of live eliminations and I was expecting to see her wearing another Alexander McQueen look. I’m glad I was wrong, because she wore something unexpected.

I mean, I haven’t seen her so beautiful since the Back to Basics era. Awww, I just love what her new glam squad is doing with her hair and make-up. I still think she should change something in her hairstyle, but here I can see a huge improvement: her platinum blonde doesn’t look as artificial as it used to, and shorter hair totally suits her. I don’t even want to start commenting on her make-up, which is just perfect, because it enhances and doesn’t hide her features. Yesterday was a busy episode of The Voice and I enjoyed it a lot! After several rounds of blind auditions, the competition is starting to get serious with the 1st battle round. We usually get one or two outfits from Christina Aguilera, but this time we got five! Let’s take a look at what she wore.

Many criticised this outfit, but I must admit I really liked it. Too bad it’s not fully visible, because it would have been interesting to see her shoes and some more details about the dress (I think it was a dress, but who knows?) she wore.The plunging neckline of the black halter dress was balanced by a suede corset belt with braided details.

Her quirky headpiece, accented by crystals, is a creation by Sonia Rykiel. I’ve already said that, but I repeat it: I’m not a fan of curly hairstyles, but she actually looked good.

Whoa! Three posts about Christina Aguilera’s style in a row! Yesterday evening NBC aired the second round of blind auditions for The Voice and Christina appeared on stage with a new outfit. The performance of the judges was a tribute to Prince: they sang four songs from the 1980s by the American artist, which included 1999, Little Red Corvette, I Wanna Be Your Lover and Kiss. I loved Cee-Lo Green’s rendition of Little Red Corvette (and his ruby red sequin outfit) but I really hated Blake Shelton singing Kiss (I mean, Kiss with a country vibe? No way!).

Her rock chick outfit included a leather corset with a plunging neckline, a black miniskirt and silver-accented accessories – a pair of leather gloves, a leather beret and a chain belt. As for her shoes, I think their soles were red, so I guess she was wearing Christian Louboutin pumps. I quite like this outfit on her, but it’s kind of predictable. Now, I wouldn’t like her to embrace a super-eccentric look, but I really wish for something more from her. How many times we’ve seen this look on celebrities? She could have chosen something sexier but more refined for this performance, in tune with the unique mood of Prince’s music.

Last April I was super-excited: after much drama related to her divorce, Christina Aguilera was finally back with a brand-new role in the world of entertainment. After putting herself to the test with acting, she made her debut as one of the vocal coaches at The Voice, a programme aired by NBC which quickly became very successful. Some months later, the second season of the show has just made its debut: it was aired yesterday, after the Superbowl, so here I am with a report about what Christina wore.

Last year, the first post I wrote about this programme was centered around an enigma: I wasn’t able to identify the earrings Christina was wearing. Later, I fortunately succeeded, but history is repeating: I’ve tried anything to identify these multi-hoop earrings, but no results. I’ll hopefully be luckier with what she’ll wear in the next episodes.
